However, what I’ll be tackling is more than just a rise gym review, but more helpful information on what you can do to rise to the occasion and make healthier choices. I know how difficult it can be to get the motivation to begin working out, especially with the temptation of binge eating your favorite sweets or staying in bed all day long.
With that in mind, here are a few tips to help you rise and get into the world of fitness:
1. Create the Right Goals
Sometimes, fitness goals may be TOO big for some, especially those who are new to exercising. While you may want to set huge goals, you might end up feeling overwhelmed, and it ends up with you wanting to quit halfway or feeling tempted to chuck the entire goal away.
Instead of trying to reach goals athletes and veterans would do, set reasonable ones that are up to your level. For instance, don’t try to work out for at least an hour a day. Rather, set more reasonable and achievable goals, like working out for half an hour thrice a week or so.
2. Track Your Progress
I highly recommend that you chart your workouts, whether online or in a notebook. This can set you up for success, as you feel more motivated seeing your progress and improve. Whether you’re running quicker, lifting heavier, doing more reps, or working out more, it will have you keep going.
There are online apps that allow you to track your progress, from your diet down to the workouts you do. This may be more convenient than journaling, as you can do it on your smartphone or other devices.
3. Don’t Feel Guilty!
Let’s be real. Even the most athletic people are bound to miss a day or two of working out or pig out and eat some junk. But that doesn’t mean you fell off the wagon!
It’s totally normal to skip a few days or indulge in our favorite food. But it’s NO excuse to give up and throw in the towel. Realize that there will be a few side steps throughout your fitness journey, so prepare for those setbacks and rise above them when they do happen.
Never let guilt be a reason why you quit. Instead, push aside guilt and let your setbacks be a motivation to rise again and get back to your routine.
4. Focus on YOU
A lot of times, we feel demotivated thinking about the people who can do better, so we end up staying on our lane, never progressing.
Face reality: There will always be people who may be faster, fitter, more flexible than you are. But do NOT compare yourself to them. In fact, never compare yourself to anyone!
Your workout is all for you and about you, not anyone else. Don’t put people down, especially yourself, as you try to be better. Forget about whoever can do better or who does worse, just continue progressing at YOUR pace, keeping in your zone.
It’s great to be inspired by people, but never compare and feel like you are inferior to anyone else. Remember, we all started somewhere, and this is YOUR journey and timeline.
5. Have a Cheering Squad
It’s crucial to have a support system rooting for you all the way! This can help you stay motivated and rise to a fitter version of yourself. Find loved ones like your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, anyone who can encourage you to work out, eat healthier, and to just keep moving forward.
These people should support you completely but should never make you feel guilty in case you experience setbacks. And hey, you can do the same with them if they are trying to be healthier, too! Be each other’s support system and even create a group where you have group workouts, eat healthy meals together, and have a group chat where you share your successes and motivations.
6. Have Fun and Love the Process
If you feel so demotivated, then it’s probably because you’re doing the wrong activity that doesn’t suit your taste and preference. Not everyone loves to stay in the gym for hours or end, nor do all people like running outdoors. It’s best that you find something you find fun to do and experiment to see which exercises help motivate you to get up and going.
Select the activities you like the most, making it something you can look forward to. May it be lifting heavy in the gym or hiking outside, horseback riding, or swimming, try everything and find the fun in it!

1. The Right Nutrition
Health and fitness don’t start in the gym, it begins in the kitchen! You are what you eat, and it’s important that you get the right amount of HEALTHY food. Protein and nutrition are things you need to focus on the most.
Protein is a major building block of the body, which can help you gain strength while recovering the muscles you used while working out.
I recommend that you have a good serving of lean meats with your meals. If you are vegan or vegetarian, there are healthy sources of protein for you as well, such as tofu and nuts. Avoid going for fatty meats, only having fats sparingly and in healthy amounts.
Do not forget about your fruits and vegetables, which are just as important as they fill you up with vitamins and minerals you need to keep you energized for workouts and healthy to live a good life.
As for sugars and processed food, it’s best to steer clear away from them as much as you can. Substitute sugary candies for fruits, or chips for carrots and dip.
2. Get Proper Sleep
Not a lot of people realize that diet and exercise are not the only things you should focus on when wanting to be fit and healthy. You should also make sure that you get good sleep as well, which affects the way you eat and exercise!
Even when we have our own jobs and other priorities other than fitness, it’s crucial to get enough sleep, which helps recharge our batteries. 7-9 hours of sleep is required, but if you do feel tired after a stressful day at work, it’s okay to have a quick nap before working out, but only for up to half an hour to avoid not being able to sleep later on.
3. Stay Hydrated
This is another thing that many forget about! While we can be so focused on what we eat before or after workouts, or exercising itself, we forget about drinking and staying hydrated. Even when you aren’t working out, it’s important to get at least 8 glasses of water a day, which helps regulate body temperatures and your heart rate.
Furthermore, water is what you mostly lose during exercise, which is why it’s important to replenish what you lost so your body stays hydrated. Drink one glass of water half an hour before exercising, then drink water every 15 minutes as you exercise. Also, drink a glass of water after exercise.
You’ll also lose electrolytes while exercising, so I recommend that you replenish yourself with water or sugar-free liquids with added electrolytes.
4. Exercise and Stay Active
And of course, it’s important to exercise, or at least stay active, every day. You don’t need to sweat for hours on end, though! Even just a quick walk or a quick workout can help burn a few calories, helping you shed the pounds in time. While it’s optimal to work out for an hour daily, you can break that up throughout the day, or workout thrice a week instead, depending on your schedule.
Rest days are just as important, so make sure that you have “active recovery” days where you’re walking around without too much intensity. Let your body rest so you’re prepared for the next workout.
5. Don’t Neglect Your Dental Health
Oral health is also important for your overall well-being. Tooth decay or gum problems can cause pain and bleeding, which can interfere with daily activities. If you have tooth or gum pain, you’ll likely less participate in school or work activities. Dental health issues cause nutritional and metabolic problems too. And in worse cases, tooth and gum infections that are left untreated will affect other parts of your body.
Prolonged dental health problems can affect the heart and other vital organs of the body. The bacteria and other harmful microorganisms in the mouth can travel down to your lungs and heart, affecting the heart’s valves and causing more health issues such as rheumatic heart disease. Oral problems increase your risk of respiratory issues, hypertension, heart disease, and stroke as well.
Dental hygiene is paramount to good dental health. It’s best to be proactive about this as well. You can do this by securing essential items by yourself and maintaining good oral hygiene.
